I just changed my contact information for my domain and now I am being asked to verify the information. I never had to do this before when I made changes. What’s changed?

If you have recently added or changed your contact information for a domain, new ICANN regulations require Dyn to verify the contact information within 15 days of any changes. Failure to do so will now result in your domain services being shut down. Please note that it may take up to 48 hours for your services to be fully active after verifying your email address.

We work with customers to inform them of this requirement and are not required by ICANN to shut down the site. Click the link in your verification email to verify your information. If you need the verification link resent, log in to your account and click Resend Verification.

ICANN is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, a nonprofit organization that is responsible for the coordination of maintenance and methodology of several databases of unique identifiers related to the namespaces of the Internet, ICANN.org.

You can read the specification from the ICANN website.
